Divorce Photos: When A House Is Not A Home

Huffington Post     First Posted: 11/18/10 09:32 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:10 PM ET

We were intrigued by this photo by Stephanie Cinelli, as was comedian Samantha Bee, who owns a print by the New Jersey-based photographer. The image, taken in Bucks County, PA is part of a powerful series on divorce. Says Cinelli:

"The idea behind this series was to document the changes in the home of a family as the process of a divorce was occurring. In this instance, the mother was the one to leave the home while the father and sons remained. Due in part to the fractured family unit, as well as the absence of the matriarch, a quiet emptiness became evident as time went on. The subtle changes in the home were the things that spoke the loudest about the difficulty of this emotional transition."

Click through for five photos from the series.

Where the ladies at?

As a handsome 38-year-old stockbroker and Wall Street tycoon, I can tell you there are benefits to not being married. These photos are very biased.

Just think about the photos of my place -- I'm single (though I have plenty of lady friends, if you know what I mean), and I have all kinds of stuff in my place because I'm rich, and I pay for maid service.

No woman is ever in my place -- I call it the penthouse -- unless I'm getting some action. But my place is beautiful. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is it's not so bad being single.

If I decided to get married -- and then ended up getting a divorce most likely -- I wouldn't have the penthouse and a good gig on Wall Street that is so important even the federal government will back up my salary if need be.

Has anyone seen my mistress?
