Kate Middleton's Engagement Dress Sold Out 'Almost Immediately' (PHOTOS)

It took less than 24 hours for the royal blue Issa dress that Kate Middleton donned for her engagement announcement on Tuesday to sell out at London's Harvey Nichols store, Vogue UK reports.

The boutique's buying director Averyl Oates told Vogue, "The dress worn by Kate sold out almost immediately. Issa is one of our best selling brands and the versatility of the pieces mean that they can be dressed down for the day and dressed up for special occasions." It was on sale for £385 or $616.

But who is Issa, anyway? The label was founded by Brazilian-born Daniella Helayel in 2001. She told Net-A-Porter.com, "It's all about versatility. An Issa dress can be worn from the beach to the office and then onto the red carpet."

She'll do humanitarian work. What else can she do in her position. She'll be patron of dozens of charities, make little speeches, etc. Just like Diana.

at 20 diana's had no idea. she got better with age. Kate has a few years experience already, mostly out of the public eye. I have not been totally sold on everything she has worn. No doubt Vogue will step in to offer some practical advice and introduce potential outfits for her

Me too! Am planning to wake at 6 am once again for a royal event. Did it for Diana's wedding and sadly funeral. Now my daughter and I will be watching in the spring/summer.

She is a stunning young beauty. The girl next door with more sophistication. Not far from the style and demeanor of Princess Diana but with a little more knowledge on how to handle herself. She will carry herself well in the spotlight and be a proud member of the royal family. I wish the lovely couple the best.

She seems confident (apparently someone said she was lucky to have william and she replied "he is lucky to have me")
This reminds me of King Hussein of Jordan who wholeheartedly supported his son, crown prince abdullah to marry Rania. She is also a beautiful woman with a tough head. She has worked for the poor but has she connected in a way that Diana did?
I think Diana's quality and the thing that undid her in some regards was that she was a little bit broken inside and understood and recognised that in others.

It's a beautiful dress. I can't spare the 400 quid, but I'm eagerly awaiting the knock-offs!
