First Posted: 11/19/10 07:12 PM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:15 PM ET

It's the time of year when we all begin to lose our minds with thoughts of stuffing our faces, buying presents and having visions of sugarplum fairies. With our calendars more full than normal, it can be all too easy to forget some events. Here are our picks for not-to-miss events ending within the next week, from Chicago to Berlin.

Damien Hirst, Hydrochloric Acid, 2010, UV ink and charcoal on canvas, 72 x 57 1/2 inches (183 x 146cm), Photo by Prudence Cuming Associates, © Damien Hirst. All rights reserved, DACS 2010, Gagosian Gallery

Veteran Britart bad boy Damien Hirst continues his exploration of the themes of science and death in "Poisons + Remedies" at Gagosian Gallery in London, ending November 20. The exhibition is one part giant images of skulls silkscreened onto canvas given the names of poisons, one part chaotic pill-strewn canvases offering the "remedy." Go for a refreshing, albeit dark, break from the holiday season.
