Christian Activist Bryan Fischer Blasts 'Feminized' Medal Of Honor

Bryan Fischer Medal Of Honor

Politics Daily:

"When we think of heroism in battle, we used the think of our boys storming the beaches of Normandy under withering fire, climbing the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc while enemy soldiers fired straight down on them, and tossing grenades into pill boxes to take out gun emplacements," wrote Fischer, director of issue analysis for the AFA, a longtime lobby on the Christian right. "That kind of heroism has apparently become passé when it comes to awarding the Medal of Honor. We now award it only for preventing casualties, not for inflicting them."

It seems that in order for one to be worthy of receiving the Medal of Honor anymore, he or she must be a killer. Killing an enemy is held by some as the criteria for selecting Medal of Honor recipients. It is too bad that some Conservatives try to tie Jesus into their mindset of war-mongering. Jesus never advocated war. He never claimed ownership of the idea of war that taints this kingdom (and its war treasures and trophies). For those who care what he said, he said that his kingdom is NOT of this world. He also said if his kingdom were of this world, his disciples would fight.

Further, if this gentleman would only look up a little higher, he would see that he does a grave disservice to the Man he uses as an example of, or excuse for, killing enemies versus savings comrades or others who need help. He claims Jesus acted on behalf of the PLANET. This little insignificant globe down here is not the only Creation. In other words, the Creation is infinite; therefore, the planet is not the entire interest Christ came down to bring Light to.

F&F for truth. It is unbelievable--almost--the amount of bitterness and hatred they display on a regular basis. Whatever happened to "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself". Oh that's right--some aren't considered to be neighbours.

I wanted to say that I wondered where all the Christian leaders are who should be weighing in on this, then I realized there are no Christian leaders anymore who can speak to moderation. They are all on the fringe of lunacy. What happened to Christians?

Not killing brown people makes Baby Jesus cry.

Because we are so sure Jesus had blond hair, white skin and blue eyes. Right there in the middle of the middle east this little nordic featured baby was born. Right!

This isn't the half of it. This guy is a real piece of work. Some highlights:

1) Believes all Muslim citizens should be ejected from the country, and banned from immigrating.
"simple Judeo-Christian compassion dictates a restriction and repatriation policy with regard to Muslim immigration into the U.S."

2) Believes Islam isn't protected by the first amendment, calling for the banning of all Mosque building in the U.S.
""Permits, in my judgment, should not be granted to build even one more mosque in the United States of America. Not one! We ought to be done with the building of mosques in the United States of America."

... and my personal, history denying, whackadoodle favorite...
3) Believes that the Nazi's were all homosexuals, ergo, homosexuals killed the jews.
""Homosexuality gave us Adolph Hitler, and homosexuals in the military gave us the Brown Shirts, the Nazi war machine and six million dead Jews."

I just love how idiot-Christians (not to be confused for real followers of Jesus of Nazareth) are so proud of our nations ability to kill and destroy stuff, and so eager to demonstrate it to the rest of the world.
10:34 PM on 11/23/2010
Where are the real followers of jesus? Why are they so strangely silent when these loonies open up? Aren't they tired of being lumped in with these folks? I find that so troubling.

The ones I know are extremely tired of it. One of them just posted this page on her facebook with the heading "I do love Jesus, but I will never call myself a 'Christian'. Here's why"

A GREAT illustration of how America's political right-wing has highjacked the good word 'Christian' and redefined the definition into "a republican foot soldier born of fear, hatred and/or ignorance - intolerant of those that look different, think different and worship differently from themselves and who will battle to the death to preserve their own self-righteous ideology - since the rapture is coming very soon . . . so we should pick sides now." Something tells me, republicans don't REALLY believe in Jesus or Christianity - just corporate greed with special perks. I wonder what special perks they will be awarded at the pearly gates?
10:36 PM on 11/23/2010
I don't think they hijacked it, I think the christians handed it over because these attack dogs would go after abortion and other "social" issues they didn't have the guts to speak to because they are such "nice" christians. And just like the rethugs with SP, tea baggers and their cronies, once the genie got out of the bottle they retreated ahead of the onslaught. They are still running

A dumb 500lb iron bomb can kill plenty, that doesn't qualify it for citation.

The award is for heroism, not body count.

Interesting / disturbing to see what's on the mind of the religious right these days.

This is so laughable. Jesus (Jeshua) is worshipped because His followers believe that he gave his life to save their souls. He laid down his life. He did not take any. Geesh, what is wrong with these crazies? (I guess I answered my own question.)
10:39 PM on 11/23/2010
Yes you did, They are not Christians, they are cherry pickers who use the bible selectively and out of context to advance their agenda of taking the country away from regular people. They would prefer we went back to the dark ages where the church was the focus of people's lives. ONE church not many. Exactly what the founding fathers feared
01:24 PM on 11/23/2010
Wow, another Christian who thinks Jesus wants us to kill as many others as possible. I have to get a copy of their bible. Mine is all wrong.

My bible has Jesus making lots of comments about rich people not getting into heaven. How come the right-wing churches cut that part out of the bibles? Won't those who vote for rich Republicans have the door slammed in their faces also?

Of course, I see nothing as weaker than a "Christian" complaining about there not being enough d3ath in the world.

There is nothing weaker than a male trying to trivialize the strength of females. If this Y chromosome mutant could spend a day in the life of a pregnant woman or a mother of 3, then we will talk about real strength.
