Academy Award winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis has chosen what is sure to be yet another masterful role in a series of well-chosen, award-winning, and intricate characters. He'll take on the top-hat wearing title character in Steven Spielberg's much anticipated and often delayed biopic about Abraham Lincoln, despite swirling rumors that the role had gone to Liam Neeson. Either way, Mr. Spielberg curiously seemed determined to find an actor from across the pond to play this quintessential American president. The film is based on the book Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin, who has reportedly met with Daniel Day-Lewis already to tour historic sites in Illinois and to begin preparing the actor for the role. The rest of the cast has yet to be ironed out, but filming is slated for fall 2011.
