Independent publisher CQ Press has released its annual report of the most dangerous cities in America based on various crime statistics in 347 metropolitan areas.
In general, Colorado cities fared well in the study with the state's "most dangerous" city--Pueblo--coming in at # 112. Centennial was determined to be the "safest" Colorado city, and one of the safest in the entire country.
The study took into account statistics on rates of murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and motor vehicle theft.
The validity of the study has, has been called into question by the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the FBI, among others.
