CTV News:

Britney Spears wants to care for her children full-time.

The 28-year-old singer - who has been under the conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears since her much-publicised breakdown in January 2008 - has reportedly told ex-husband Kevin Federline she wants to get back custody of her sons, Sean Preston, five, and four-year-old Jayden James, and have the boys live with her and current partner Jason Trawick.

Are father and mother Spears divorcing, and fighting over who gets custody of Britney?

I agree with Checquoline, as long as she is under conservatorship it is going to be an uphill battle for her. How can you expect a judge to give you custody of two minors, when you've shown time and time again you can't even take care of yourself?

She's gonna have to get the conservatorship lifted and then she'll need a lot of medical experts to give statements saying how she's ready to be a mommy again.

This is probably going to take a while. I figure by the time she gets granted joint custody (which is probably the best she can hope for) the kids will be teenagers.

Look who is trying to grow up and be responsible. Brit, now you know Kevin is not going to agree to anything like that without a fight. The benefits are just too good and you have provided him with plenty of documentation to support why you should not get that privilege any time soon.

When she stops living the"Christina Aguilera" life, she should allowed to have them back.

She is under conservatorship. If she can't take care of herself she can't take care of her kids.

Despite of my understanding why she'd want to see her kids without having to constantly switch them between persons, I'm with Federline on this one.
Until she's stable, wait up on this offer.

amusing how many people assume KFed is a better parent when your opinion is based on tabloid news. if KFed were followed around 24/7 by paps maybe we'd find out he's not so great. she may be a better parent. don't be so quick to judge.

Well he did leave his 8 month pregnant girlfriend the minute he met Britney, they had been together for years and had a family, that shows he doesnt have a lot of character. You can't tell me that Kevin didn't have a hand in her breakdown either. He's just the lesser of two evils.

I'm rooting for this Mommy, maybe there are things unknown to the public, but her mental health issues may not yet be under control and thus, the Dad is waiting to see improvement. I hope, sincerely, that her health improves until one day she'll be able to have her children with her as she wishes. Good luck, Britney.

I sincerely hope that the courts only take into consideration the best interest of the children. Their father stepped up and took care of them - for years now. The thought of taking them out of the only home they have ever known and away from the only real parent they ever had would be the worst thing for those boys.

Federline must really love his kids to turn down $15,000/month or he really believes she'll snap again.

When she no longer under the conservatorship, 50-50 custody. That would be fair.
08:58 AM on 11/26/2010
It's not about "fair". It's about what is best for the kids. 95 - 5 in favor of KFed sounds appropriate. Oh, and her 5% needs to be supervised by social services.

If she is better and able to take care of her children, then 50-50 is fair. KFed has done a great job with those kids, but if she is better, she should be able to work up to having joint 50-50 custody. My opinion.
