John Conyers' Playboy Bust: Congressman Caught Reading Adult Mag On Airplane (VIDEO)

John Conyers Playboy

It takes a bold person to openly read an adult nudie magazine in public, especially on an airplane where tight confines often leave neighboring passengers reading over each other's shoulders. It takes an even bolder person to do it while serving as a U.S. congressman.

But that's just what Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee who was recently elected to his 24th term in Congress, was filmed doing on a flight in July by a curious aisle mate who noticed the legislator flipping through Playboy.

To be fair, the Michigan View reports that some of the other accounts of the incident show Conyers actually reading the publication's articles, such as "La Chatte" by Maureen Gibbon, an author who has blogged for HuffPost before.

And hey, at least he was seated in coach, so people can't hiss at him for excessively spending taxpayer dollars while taking in some adult entertainment.

Scroll down for the footage.

So now we have him caught letting his son ride in his government issued cadillac with tens of thousands of dollars worth of tickets, and laptops, which may or may not have had sensitive government info (no doubt on way to wikileaks).

So the shift in comments can now go to "reading Playboy isn't illegal!" (correct)
to...
He misappropriated federally issued funds for personal use (allegedly).

Is this more "newsworthy?"

Yesterday I clicked on this website, took a quick look at what was offered and was overwhelmed by the amount of garbage articles making up a high percentage of the total. It's getting to be an enormous effort to wade through the misleading headlines and sort out what is worth reading and I find myself going to other sources that provide quicker information. I'm interested more in the facts than some windbag's take and I find that more times than enough the articles are editorials more than anything. I'll take quality over quantity anytime and Huffpost doesn't fill the bill. This article is a good example.

Cmon folks, give John a break. His wife is in prison and he is alllllllllll alone! At least he wasn't caught in a gay bar or sliding his foot under a bathroom stall, all while spouting hate against the homosexual community...

How is this new? Million read it every day. How about reporting on the failure that is Afghanistan instead? Something other than this trash talk.

Oh, poor, poor sexually repressed Americans.

So an adult man, was reading an adult magazine ( and looks like he was ACTUALLY reading the articles ) not near any children, behaving appropriately minding his own business............

So, where is the ' bust ' other than in the magazine?

News flash! Men like to look at women.

If folks in this country saw what passes for adverts in other countries they would have a heart attack. I remember watching some TV in Austria and a skin creme product was being pitched. Well, the woman in the advert took off her shirt ( no bra and no censoring ) and slathered said creme on her person. TV off, cold shower for me!

If he had been caught reading the magazine "Swank" or "Black Tail" then we would have an article. But fortunately he wasn't so no story here.

I agree. A black man looking at black women for a change would indeed be a story.

I'm kidding. Try to keep the hate to a minimum.
