FINALLY — Here's a great alternative to body scanners at airports . . .

The Israelis are developing an airport security device that eliminates the privacy concerns that come with full-body scanners at the airports.

It’s a booth you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on you. They see this as a win-win for everyone, with none of this crap about racial profiling. It also would eliminate the costs of a long and expensive trial. Justice would be swift. Case closed!

You're in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system . . . "Attention standby passengers — we now have a seat available on flight number XXXX. Shalom!"

Hats off to the Israelis!!!!

Airport security is just one of the MANY reasons why I don't plan on visiting the US again.

Even communist Third World countries treat you with more respect than this.

"Flying is not a privilege"... it's a service that we pay for! These photos make me sad and
angry. Our rights are clearly being violated. I'm not flying under these conditions.

The TSA is under new management. John Pistole was appointed in July and inherited a mess compounded by the integration of new scanners ordered by the previous administration and actual increased threats from overseas.

The good news none of the ACTUAL threats have caused a single injury or loss of life. Give the new leadership time to work out the bugs and clean up the mess left by previous leadership.

Europe has experienced fascism and gestapo techniques first hand. They recall how easy it is for government to limit their lives unreasonably and impose legal process over their daily lives. We as American's have not experienced this in many years. We in America are allowing "fear" to control our freedoms and privileges. These fears are exactly what the terrorists want. Our government's restrictive responses impede our daily life and exchange. These over-restrictive protocols empower radical fringe groups. I applaud Euriope's firm yet responsible processes to assure safety and locate wrongdoer's rather than "point blank" impose restrinctions upon the public at large.

She ran her hands all the way up and into my crot.ch with force. To get gra.phic she could have felt if I had a femi.nine pad on. When she finished with the front she did the same with my back to the point that she, what I would call g.roped, my bu.tt. She went under, in between, and on my bre.ast. It was more intense than my monthly bre.ast exam.

I was visibly upset and when he started to fo.ndle me inappr.opriately I yelled “I want to see your supervisor!†I asked (emphatically) if he was legally allowed to gr.ab my ge.nitals and the supervisor said he was. After fondling my ge.nitals he groped my butto.cks and told me to have a good flight.

More than 600 complaints to the ACLU on overly evasive pat-downs:

The pat down was so invasive that the woman doing it stuck her thumb through my jeans into my va.gina, significantly more than simple resistance. She cupped each of my br.easts, and ran her hand inside the waistband of my jeans…. I am upset, humilated, degraded and feel abused and criminal, when I am guilty of nothing.

Its obvious that those who most oppose patdowns are the overweight. those embarrassed with the shape of their bodies.

No they are not sheeple like you, The shoe bomber and underwear bomber did not catch their flights in the US they came from oversea origins. Considering those countries do not use these techniques it is not helping the situation to submit our citizens to this treatment. We still allow non screened cargo on flights. How about if we focus on our true domestic terrorist. Timothy McVeigh did not fly to Oklahoma city he drove maybe we should screen every car entering into or out of a state. We install full body scanners near abortion clinics and make the protesters go through them to make sure they do not have bombs or any weapons. As bank robberies go up as people get desperate to survive will they put full body scanners you must pass through to get into the bank? Wake up this crap causes the US to loss money as many tourist from other countries will go elsewhere for vacation. If we want to stop terrorism we need to stop terrorizing other countries. They do not hates us for our freedoms, they hate us because we are hypocrites. Do as we say not as we do.

Is that true or did you hear it on Fox News?

I notice that you mention the the shoe and underwear bomber in your argument but not the 9/11 terrorists who DID board flights within the US and killed 2,977 Americans, which is reason #1 that Homeland Security and the TSA exist in the first place. But I suppose the 9/11 terrorist attacks don't matter to you.

While I agree that random screenings violate not only the fourth Amendment (unreasonable search and seizure) but also the sixth Amendment (the right to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation) because passengers are being singled out, make no mistake that the increased security measures are an important and needed measure to ensure the safety of American lives.

A trained flee circus would be more sensitive to travelers who have gone through the horror of cancer and treatment and actually surviving, who have medical hardware on their bodies either to survive or to look normal after surgery.

The point is that these invasive checks don't prevent terrorism. Not only that but they would not prevent the method of attack used on 9-11. Boxcutter blades can still be smuggled on board in carry on.

Moreover, explosives can still be carried on board internally the same way drug mules have been smuggling drugs on flights for thirty years.

Israel's methods can not be scaled up to cover the US as it would be too expensive to train agents and there is a little thing called the Constitution that people always say they are willing to die for but are never really willing to risk a thing for.

The methods that work are common sense observation. Most people who are genuine threats give themselves away through their actions. Beyond that there is NOTHING that can be done to prevent a committed and trained individual from attacking a plane
