College Kid Strips Down To Speedo At Salt Lake Airport (VIDEO)

SALT LAKE CITY — A college student has posted a video of himself on the Internet stripping down to a Speedo bathing suit at the Salt Lake City airport in a protest of security patdowns.

The video was purportedly shot Tuesday in a security line, but airport spokeswoman Barbara Gann says another Speedo protest is taking place Wednesday, with one man walking around in a Speedo, boots and cap.

Transportation Security Administration spokesman Dwyane Baird says the man isn't a security threat and won't be detained.

That may be a Speedo but it's not a "speedo," and not all that outrageous. I've seen passengers dressed exactly like that coming back from St. Croix, and nobody said a word.

Those infected gloves really are a violent attack. Not only is TSA guilty of sexual assault, child molestation and violation of the 4th and 5th amendments, they are guilty of negligent bodily harm when they transfer disease organisims.

Bravo. Actually, there would be no need for total body scans nor pats-down if we all stripped to tight fitting skivvies. I only wish that all of the flying public had pleasant looking bodies like this young man ;-)

People sould contact the Center for Disease Control to complain about the TSA health risk with their failure to change gloves and wash and disinfect their hands between groping people. They are transfering disease. There is no way to tell how much harm they have caused so far.

The government will say that the gloves are to protect the TSA employee.  Insist that they put on clean, sterile gloves before touching you.  The heatlh risk is real.

I think this is an excellent form of non violent protest. It also seems like it would be convenient and would be likely to speed thing up. Next time I fly I just might do it in a bikini under a coat and bring some easy to carry clothes in my carry on so I can be warm while I fly.It sounds like a great idea.

Not when you are a sixty year old woman! I would have done it at your age. At mine - maybe I'll look for those t-shirts that just LOOK like you're naked! Same message without the eyesore!

PS - for a protest to work it has to be more than just visual stimulation. If you are not holding up lines all you are really doing is giving the pervs a peep show. '

What you are doing by traveling nearly naked instead of allowing them to scan you is choosing to show it to them rather than being forced to show it to them "choice is where dignity starts." It puts you in control rather than being violated which is a big deal.

I'm a democrat and I'm mad that Obama is protecting the money and claiming that the only people who are outraged by the filthy, illegal TSA actions are his political enemies. These scanners are about money, not safety. The pad downs are punishment for rejecting the scanners. TSA is spreading disease because the TSA employees are so stupid that they don't even understsnd basic sanitation and hygine. They must change gloves as well as wash and sanitize their hands instead of groping dozens of people with the same filthy gloves. Contact the Center for Disease Control and complain. TSA is a true danger to society.

Creative theatrical protest has been around in this country for a long time. True, with YouTube's availability today, many people tailor their protest to that medium, but a generation ago, I'm sure the kid would have been content with, and pandered to the smaller audience of the people there in the room.
