Turkey Trot, Nationwide

Whether your 'trotting' pace is a stroll or a sprint, the ubiquitous Turkey Trot is a fun way to offset that extra slice of pumpkin pie. And on such a day of gratitude and appreciation, you can't argue with a community-centered event that often raises funds for charitable causes.

Here's the real truth to the origin of Thanksgiving.

"Our party landed at Plymouth Rock in 1620 and immediately proceeded to begin starving to death. The local people saw our plight and came to save us, teaching us how to farm, fish and live off the land. Through their assistance we managed to make it through the first year. After our first harvest in the new world we sought to show our gratitude by hosting a feast of Thanksgiving and honoring our saviors. Then we killed them!

Truth in Beauty, Beauty in Truth

Yesterday, as we have for the last 6 years, we took our veggie feast to the hot springs where we soaked in total peace for a few hours, being the only ones there early. We watched as parade of Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep strooled across the ridge above us. We then heated up our meal, ate and talked with others doing the same. Then back to the pools for a few more hours. No family, no kids, no stress. A perfect Thanksgiving.

How about the "Sorry about the blankets, who knew you didn't have any natural immunity to European diseases?" wapatoolie party at the University of Cleveland Beta House.

Hi land2341: Years ago my wife & I took a motor-coach trip to Amish Country.
The itinerary featured Longwood Gardens. I just want to say it was absolutely
beautiful. Take care land2341. I hope your Thanksgiving was a terrific day.
