Brooklyn artist/activist Dara Greenwald had recently completed the Signs Of Change:
Social Movement Cultures 1960s to Now
exhibition and was contemplating her next move when she was diagnosed with cancer.

Friends and fellow artists wanted to help Dara and so they established Heal Dara G! a fundraising website. Though they have held yard sales and book signings to benefit Dara, their pièce de résistance is an online art auction, happening this week.

The auction includes books, photography, DVDs, prints, paintings, sculptures and music from over 140 artists. Some of our top picks include a vinyl copy of Neutral Milk Hotel's In The Aeroplane Over The Sea signed by Jeff Mangum, an original, signed, silver gelatin print of Patti Smith in Prague by Jem Cohen, and a miniature collage replica of Hokusai's Great Wave of Kanagawa made with paper household waste by artist Jodie Mack.

The auction is one week only from November 29 to December 5 and all proceeds go to Heal Dara G!
