Would you ever consider working with your ex? What if working with your ex meant writing and producing a sitcom about divorce together that bore a striking resemblance to your own split? Fran Drescher and former husband Peter Marc Jacobson are doing just that.

TV Land, the network that recently greenlit "Ex Men", a multi-camera sitcom from former "Frasier" executive producer Mark Reisman, gave the go-ahead to the pilot of "Happily Divorced," a comedy co-written by Drescher and Jacobson (he also wrote and produced "The Nanny").

The show is based on Drescher's own experiences navigating her life after divorce, and centers on Drescher's dating life, as she juggles a new boyfriend and a relationship with an ex who has recently come out of the closet, not unlike Jacobson, who came out himself after he and Drescher ended their 21-year marriage in 1999. Drescher may also star.

Go Fran! I've always loved her. Annoying voice & all. I do think that marriage is obsolete. I listen to my parents argue all the time, my sister & her hubby as well. They say it's not like that, it's just discussions, how they talk/relate to each other. Well, I've been in plenty relationships & I after 3months, mine always end up like that. Yet, everyone's telling me I should get married...ha!

As silly as The Nanny is, Fran Fine's infectious (albeit fictitious) optimism helps me clear the hard-drive of my mind after a depressing and frustrating day of political news. I credit her and Andy Taylor for keeping me sane so I'll check out her new show.
