The bidding has gotten more intense from what we're hearing. Russian firm DST, among others, submitted offers to invest valuing the company above $3 billion, say multiple sources. But the current leader, and likely winner, is Kleiner Perkins, say multiple sources. And the likely valuation when the smoke clears will be close to $4 billion.

Since it loses money, it is in fact worth nothing. But, in the reality distortion field of net companies, it is worth quite a bit.

The major business model modificatin for Twitter going forward is how are they going to generate revenue. Google model of advertising was smart and innovated at the time moreover its seems like Yahoo is starting to learn from some of their previous mistakes. Among issues with Twitter being a SMS Social Networking site; what will be their major generation model going forward? Moreover how will they maintain a healthy run-rate to satify their new incoming investors.

Twitter never had a revenue model. Clearly, it did not matter then, and it does not matter now. The whole thing is insane. Besides, what did you expect from the inventor of Twitter, anyway? Leadership?

My understanding is that Twitter currently has no revenues, although it has plans to create a "corporate product".

But seriously, assuming any investor wants a return in 3-5 years, how can their corporate products yield continuous revenues well into Fortune 500 territory?
