Sarah Palin Forced Bristol To Do 'Dancing With The Stars': Margaret Cho

Bristol Dancing

How did Bristol Palin end up on 'Dancing With the Stars'? Sarah once said that the show's producers' first choice was Todd but they took Bristol instead--and now Bristol's fellow contestant Margaret Cho says Sarah forced her daughter to do the show as payback for her ill-timed pregnancy.

Margaret writes on her blog:

I heard from someone who really should know (really should seriously know the dirt really really) that the only reason Bristol was on the show was because Sarah Palin forced her to do it. Sarah supposedly blames Bristol harshly and openly (in the circles that I heard it from) for not winning the election, and so she told Bristol she "owed" it to her to do DWTS so that "America would fall in love with her again" and make it possible for Sarah Palin to run in 2012 with America behind her all the way. Instead of being supposedly "handicapped" by the presence of her teen mom daughter, now Bristol is going to be an "asset" - a celebrity beloved for her dancing. I am sure the show wasn't in on this (but who knows anything really).

Margaret goes on to criticize people for making fun of Bristol's weight and praise Bristol's dance moves. Read her whole post here.

'Dancing' producers are reportedly trying once again to get Todd Palin to sign on for next season, which may coincide with the 2012 presidential campaign.

A family full of narcissists, huh. I can reasonably believe that Sarah held Bristol responsible for Levi's press and the negative spin on the teen pregnancy. They didn't stick to the script: be a sweet and shiny young family. So Bristol's response seems right out of the Palin play book.

So whenever there is something in the press out there, even if teeny tiny, (I love Margaret Cho, but she is a niche performer and her blog can't possibly log that much traffic- she didn't even Tweet it!) a Palin woman must treat it with all kinds of importance and respond with an attack. You know, swearing, gay epithets, racist comments, and insistence that they are wrong and stupid. We are victims of others' mean thoughts. It's all black and white and very transparent. The classic "they hate us because of what we believe," is both hypocritical and self-aggrandizing at once! I for one am really turned off by Sarah's use of her family in this way.

Bristol should go to college and duck out of all of this. I hope she has that choice.

Bristol apparently thinks Margaret Cho should embrace conservative values. If Bristol understood the concept of hypocrisy, she would drop those same conservative values faster than she dumped her baby's daddy (and with a lot less tabloid drama).
Of course, she is well paid not to understand the concept of hypocrisy.

Margaret telling tales to get media exposure....
"So with this in mind I was somewhat taken aback to read about me in a blog by my friend and fellow contestant, Margaret Cho. In a post she called "Pistol Whipped" she wrote that "the only reason Bristol was on the show was because Sarah Palin forced her to do it. Sarah supposedly blames Bristol harshly and openly . . . for not winning the election, and so she told Bristol she "owed" it to her to do DWTS . . . ." Let me shamelessly steal from Saturday Night Live: "Really, Margaret? Really?"

I will give my friend credit for creativity, and extra points for getting so many "facts" wrong in so few sentences. Let me be blunt: my mom did not "force" me to go on DWTS. She did not ask me either. The show approached me. I thought about it. I made the decision. After first worrying for me in terms of being exposed to those who hate us for what we believe in, both my mom and my dad became my number one supporters. Anyone who watched the show could tell I performed better, and I felt better about myself, when they were in the audience. I wanted to make them both proud, but politics had nothing to do with it. Loving my parents had everything to do with it.

To my friend Margaret Cho, if you ever have a question, call me girlfriend.

Time to Pull the Plug on Palin
http://threebrain.blogspot.com/2010/12/time-to-pull-plug-on-palin.html

A Palin presidency would affect the entire world, and the world is watching ... and wondering when in hell the American media will begin to do its prescribed duty. Vet Mrs. Palin, please, NOW. Take note of her ties to a secessionist organization. Take note of her fake pregnancy (pdf). Take note of her connections to dominionism and the Seven Mountain proponents. Take note of her abysmal record of raising her own children - one an unwed mother who is likely pregnant again, another a school bus vandal, another yet a house vandal. Take note of her legacy as half-term governor, where elders were abused, where indigenous people were abandoned, where the environment was sacrificed in the name of profits, where ethics and transparency were simply feel-good words and not guiding principles.

By all means, put Todd on the show so that he can fall in love with his dancing partner, shack out with her during taping and ignite a big ol' sex scandal so that Sarah garners the sympathy vote, thus inserting her into the White House.

uh-huh. LOL

This week I told Jennifer Grey thank-gd she won. The tea party could have destroyed Dancing with the Stars by voting for that talentless abstainer!

Lots of stories out there now that DWTS still are after Todd Palin for next year's show. I don't think putting another Palin on the show will work as well in the ratings as it did for Bristol. I don't think the average fan of the show will be thrilled that DWTS is paling around with Palins.

If they truly believe the support for Bristol was because she wasn't a "celebrity" and was a "regular" person - perhaps they should randomly select "regular" people from their viewers to be selected for the show. How about selecting a dozen people who have had their unemployment checks terminated - and give them the opportunity to dance for a paycheck?

The don't want to help those in need who really need the money, they are there to make the rich, richer..
Also, I don't think people like Bristol should be on the show. That was a farce. REAL stars should be insulted.

I don't think the public would tune in to watch "regular" people - although that is what DWTS was saying was Bristol's appeal.

The whole story sounds like something Margaret Cho made up. And if it were anybody BUT the Palins, I would say it was obviously made up. However, with the Palins there is just no end to the jaw-dropping ridiculousness of their behavior, particular Ma Grizzled. When you look at everything else we know about the Palins, yup, this story is absolutely and perfectly credible.

Who is Margaret Cho to make fun of anybody's weight? Wasn't she overweight for quite some time?

Re-read the post. It says Margaret Cho criticized people who made fun of Bristol's weight. In other words, she was coming to Bristol's defense on the weight issue.

I posted Margret Cho's interview on my blog and it sounds like she's telling a lie?
Who is her "secret source"?

I'd just about bet her source is Bristol Palin, herself.

I remember watching DWTS when Billy Ray Cyrus was on it. He knew he couldn't dance. He knew that he was just on the show to promote his daughter's upcoming tv show. He was going to have some fun while working to make sure folks tuned in to Hannah Montana. I always thought that this was a man that really loves his daughter. He's doing something completely out of his element, which clearly made him less than comfortable. I was impressed with the lengths he was willing to go through for his child. I bet Bristol wishes Billy Ray was her mom. I for one would have had more respect for the 1/2 Gov if she had gone on the show to promote the new reality show that I'm sure Bristol could have gotten. Instead she uses her own child to do an end run around the established methods of running for office. I'm sure Bristol really did want to go home, but of course, she couldn't. What real mother gets her child into a situation she has no way of knowing she could cope with? The 1/2 Gov only pops in for camera time instead of constantly being there holding her kid's hand when her child needed love and support.

Margaret Cho is showing herself to be very classy here. Anyone could tear into Bristol, and rightly so, but she is defending her, when Ms. Cho, herself, was probably voted off prematurely. Sure, neither of these women were good dancers, but the Foxicans calling in the votes sure sway the results. Comrades in battle develop mutual respect, and I honor Margaret for her views.

Kurt Vonnegut: "Man Without a Country" and Sarah Palin
http://palingates.blogspot.com/2010/12/kurt-vonnegut-man-without-country-and.html

Vonnegut wrote a "Man Without a Country" in part because he was concerned about the “personable people or psychopathic personalities who have no consciences” who he believed were taking charge of everything with little or no concern for the outcome of their actions.

Vonnegut goes on to explain that that the personality of the PP means that they are “so decisive” and that that is the reason why they have taken over positions of importance in corporations and more recently in Government.
