How about going through all the old photo albums and making your music cd's go with some photos? You might also check out some yardsales and look for something you can re-paint / restore and re-gift it !!
Making your teach a 3D photo gallery with iFunia 3D gallery( http://www.ifunia.com/3dgallery.html ).
And one of the best way to share the joy with others is to make a Christmas photo gallery with Christmas photos, music and send it as a gift to your family and friends, or just to remember this day.
This gift will take a bit more effort on your part than most others, but the reaction you receive when she opens it up will be worth it.

Every teacher has a remote control, so this might be a good gift idea:
www.themicrolite.com

The microlite pops up and turns on to illuminate your remote control since none of them work in the dark and you always hit the wrong buttons! It looks really sleek and expensive too, can use it all around the house. 3 for $19 on company's website

Teachers are not allowed to accept gifts.

A thank you note is perfect. A donation to Donors Choose to any teacher is a great idea.

Not so much the rest.

Donate to your school PTA. Then serve on a committee that can decide what would benefit all children. That's what teachers do. They spend their money to benefit their entire class. If the school has more money in it's PTA fund, then teachers don't have to spend their own money, they can go to the PTA to ask for resource materials and incentive rewards.

Sometimes its good to ask the teacher what he would like. He might be pleasantly surprised to discover that he has really thoughtful students

A very good present for this season is a book, every child has particular likes, so a book is a personalized gift!

Teacher gifts are tricky. Accepting anything from a student beyond a card or letter from a parent can be perceived as inappropriate. While that's a shame, I remember an 8th grade schoolboy in GA whose parent innocently gave his son a bottle of wine to give to his teacher and was promptly suspended for having alcohol on school grounds.

Stick to school supplies. Gifts for the classroom. A tub of markers. A rolling white board. A case of Kleenex, perhaps.

Boxes of tissue are the best. Many schools don't supply it anymore and this time of year you can go through a box in a day or two. Teachers buy tissue for their classroom so giving a box is a load off the teachers' budget.

As a teacher, my choice for BEST teacher's gift this year would be Arne Duncan resigning and the appointment of Diane Ravitz as Sec of Ed...that and Michelle Rhee falling on her face and being exposed for the fraud she is

So, you are there, mods, but only censoring. Oh well, so much for "hearing voices" and all.

The only trouble would be giving a gift while you're currently their student: hopefully they won't see it as a bribe.

When I needed letters of recommendations for college applications, I gave all the teachers $20 Starbucks cards after they wrote the letters for thanks. I was amazed that every single teacher was shocked and so thankful I gave them those: I don't think any student has ever given a gift of thanks to their teachers.

It's rare nowaday. What you did even rarer.

Nowadays you usually get a Christmas card. If any parents asks I tell them no gifts. If they insist, I tell them a box of tissue. I have to buy it myself for the classroom so it helps to have some extra boxes I didn't have to buy.
