John Edwards' Former Aides Testify In Probe Of Two-Time Presidential Candidate In Federal Court

RALEIGH, N.C. — Two former aides for John Edwards have made appearances at a federal courthouse where a grand jury is investigating the two-time presidential candidate.

Former spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri spent about an hour at the Raleigh courthouse Thursday. Former deputy campaign manager Jonathan Prince spent four hours. Neither commented when leaving.

A grand jury has been looking into Edwards' campaign finances for more than a year, bringing in former aides and mistress Rielle Hunter for testimony.

The former North Carolina senator has denied wrongdoing. His attorney has said new subpoenas were issued.

Palmieri also was a confidant of Elizabeth Edwards, the candidate's ex-wife. Prince was a close aide to Edwards for both presidential campaigns.

His not yet ex wife is at death's door and this piece of garbage is doing what he usually does- trying to find someone to take the fall for him. My fondest hope is that Elizabeth left a "present" for him in the form of a video deposition of all the lies, and BS that went on during his campaigns- and where the money REALLY went. Yes, Cheney was our Generation's Rasputin, but Edwards is a Sewer Rat & should be put with the rest of his kind & NOT be allowed to "raise" two young children to adulthood.

I don't know. I'll never forgive him for nearly torpedoing the Democratic ticket (which he was almost on) by not dropping out of the picture much earlier than he did. The story was floating for a long time before he dropped out. The only thing that really saved the Democrats from having to hear rants about it was that their VP candidate's teenage daughter got knocked up and that took all of the steam out of any potential attack ads. That was luck.
