Two years of Right-wing narcissists ripping each other to shreds.  This is going to be fun.  Popcorn, anyone?

So let me think about this - Dick Cheney and now Newt Gingrich don't like Steele - hummmmmmmm maybe there is something to like about Mr. Steele.

"But put conservatism in charge of the state, and it behaves very differently. Now the "values" that rightist politicians eulogize on the stump disappear, and in their place we can discern an entirely different set of priorities-priorities that reveal more about the unchanging historical essence of American conservatism than do its fleeting campaigns against gay marriage or secular humanism. The conservatism that speaks to us through its actions in Washington is institutionally opposed to those baseline good intentions we learned about in elementary school. Its leaders laugh off the idea of the public interest as airy-fairy nonsense; they caution against bringing top-notch talent into government service; they declare war on public workers. They have made a cult of outsourcing and privatizing, they have wrecked established federal operations because they disagree with them, and they have deliberately piled up an Everest of debt in order to force the government into crisis. The ruination they have wrought has been thorough; it has been a professional job. Repairing it will require years of political action."

"The Republican Party flaunted the anti-intellectualism of its supporters, deriding highly educated people who speak in complete sentences as "elitists"-an attitude that sorted badly with the strong intellectual tradition of conservatism. it is a self-defeating strategy of conservatives to argue that all intellectuals are liberal and therefore conservatives should think with their guts rather than their brains. The economic crisis in which the nation finds itself cannot be solved in the gut."

"A lot of so-called conservatives today don't know what the word means. They think I've turned liberal because I believe a woman has a right to an abortion. That's a decision that's up to the pregnant woman, not up to the pope or some do-gooders on the religious right. It's not a conservative issue at all."

"The modern conservative....is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy. That is the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness."

I sure am glad that the Republican Party has the most intelligent man in the world as it's selfprofessed leader.

And I'm a Democrat!

Mike, the house is surrounded and the snipers are in position.

It's time to think about giving it up before they start throwing the flash grenades..
