LINCOLN, Mont. — A 1.4-acre parcel of land in western Montana that was once owned by Unabomber Ted Kaczynski is on the market for $69,500.

The listing – by John Pistelak Realty of Lincoln – offers potential buyers a chance to own a piece of "infamous U.S. history."

"This is a one of a kind property and is obviously very secluded," the listing says. It doesn't say who owns the property.

The forested land, which had been listed at $154,500, does not have electricity or running water. Photos posted with the online listing show tall trees, chain-link fences topped by barbed wire and a tree with "FBI" carved into it, though it's not clear why. Pistelak said Friday he couldn't immediately comment on the listing, and he didn't return phone messages on Sunday.

The property does not include Kaczynski's cabin, which is on display at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

Kaczynski is serving a life sentence for killing three people and injuring 23 during a nationwide bombing spree between 1978 and 1995. The Harvard-trained mathematician railed against the effects of advanced technology and led authorities on the nation's longest and costliest manhunt before his brother tipped off law enforcement in 1996.

Kaczynski was captured at the Lincoln, Mont., cabin in April 1996. He pleaded guilty in 1998, and is housed in a maximum security prison in Colorado.

Government investigators labeled him the Unabomber because some of his attacks were directed at university scholars.

Jeez, why does it have to come on the market right now? I just picked up the Weaver place over in Idaho, so I'm kind of tapped; but as a serious collector I have to have the Kaczynski place as well.

How lame! Without the cabin it's just like any other patch of dirt. Just because he walked around on it doesn't mean it has any value. Why not buy the bathroom he used at the nearby gas station? It's just as relevant.

Not to worry, wireless electricity will be here soon. Tesla's dream might be over a 100 years late but we are on the verge. Only problem is water and food. The animals mentioned here seem off limits, so, have that pick up ready for food and water runs into the city.

It seems like a short getaway spot. If you build on it, make sure it has some ground clarence Install motion sensors and infrared to detect the animals you will encounter. Even a rabbit could kill you, so, be careful. It could be pricey to make it safe and comfortable for the average joe but it might be worth it for the solitude.

Build a nice log/cement cabin and it could be used as a spring or summer getaway. Like I said, could get expensive to build something safe and friendly to the animals in the area. The unabomber worked with nature, not against it. Too bad he didn't apply the same logic to his victims.

Despite of his hurdles with the law, Mr. Ted Kaczynski' is a brilliant man, a good writer and mathematician. The government should allow him to teach math online and to the inmates.

Won't sell at that list, not by a longshot. Unimproved rural lots this size can be had for under $10k.

This is too funny. I have been teasing my husband for years that when we retire we move from the city and live like the unabomber in the woods away from all the people who drive us nuts!!

My "unabomber" house will have electicity, plumbing and a big wrap around porch!!
