Chris Christie, New Jersey Governor, Reads 'A Visit From St. Nicholas'

First Posted: 12/06/10 12:58 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:15 PM ET

Hey, everyone! Are you a fan of the Yuletide season? Or New Jersey? Well, either way, you will be thrilled to see New Jersey Governor Chris Christie reciting Clement Clarke Moore's "A Visit From St. Nicholas," accompanied by the Boston Pops, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

As the governor and professional garnerer of 2012 speculation is best known for his angry, caught-on-YouTube confrontations, you might be curious as to how he handles the part of the poem where Santa's reindeer are clawing up his rooftop and Claus is standing in his living room. Will Christie laugh at Claus, in spite of himself? Or will he level Santa for his redistributionist policies? Sadly, this performance skips over those lines of the poem, and Christie quickly quits the stage -- probably to go off and kill some bears.

Anyway, Merry Christmas, New Jersey! Except for the bears.

For a second there, I though the Taftian governor was Saint Nick - disguised by wearing a Brobdingnagian "sack" suit and clean-shaven - but a quick double-take confirmed it was none other than ol' "Fourths, Please" himself.

The goobnor really should have a conversation with Mr. Huckabee, who wrote the book on this for the goobnor types: http://www.issues2000.org/Knife_+_Fork.jpg

New Jersey residents, ESPECIALLY "me, first" teabaqqers, shouldn't be expected to pay for Mr. "Fourths, Please" and his looming health problems.

They'd have to revive the "whistle stop" train campaigning of the past because they could only go by train: Our crumbling highways get enough abuse, dammit!

You mean Christie/Barbour, right?

Or Taft/Christie?

Or Christie/Church Lady?

This man is driving the state into the ground while playing to his base, and this is the story that is run? He still looks and acts like a wise guy.

He's going to have to start wearing mumus if he keeps up with the William Howard Taft routine.

Christ H. Christie lets his mouth lose more than an Opera Soprano.
