The book is very helpful in confirming one's suspicion of cats.

He's right. I picked up this book because of its political overtones and because I'm the same age as the protagonists and relate to the story. I don't think I would have read it if it were described as an "environmentalist" book. However, I do think exposing the environmental themes might attract another generation of readers. This book had the added effect of getting me back into reading, decreasing my wine consumption so I can stay awake and read, and also reduced my television consumption. He accomplished all that by just being a fantastic writer!
