Derek Jeter Angry With Contract Negotiations: Report

Derek Jeter Reportedly Angry With Contract Negotiations

Derek Jeter, who recently agreed to a three-year-deal with the New York Yankees, reportedly said on Tuesday that he was "bothered" by how the contract negotiations were made public.

"I'd be lying to you if I said I wasn't angry about how some of this went," Jeter said at a press conference, according to the report. "The negotiations were supposed to be private."

Jeter's deal is worth $51 million and it includes a player option for 2014. If the 36-year-old reaches all of the incentives, the deal would be worth a maximum of $65 million.

"It was an uncomfortable position that I felt was in," Jeter reportedly said. "It was not an enjoyable experience."

The Yankees shortstop went on to say that he didn't want to join another team.
