Why Michelle Williams' 'Blue Valentine' Sex Scene Rated NC-17

Blue Valentine Nc17

popeater.com:

For all the hype about Natalie Portman's steamy lesbian sex scene with Mila Kunis in 'Black Swan,' the scene was still tame enough to earn an R rating from the Motion Picture Association of America's ratings board, which means it can (and will) be shown in theaters all over the country. Like Portman, Michelle Williams is on the receiving end of an oral sex scene in 'Blue Valentine' (opening Dec. 31). Despite the similarity of the scenes, however, the Williams scene earned her film an NC-17 rating, which would keep it out of most mainstream theaters, out of the movie-section ads in many newspapers and off the shelves of most mainstream DVD retailers.

NC-17, That's what happens to me when I eat "The World's Greatest Key Lime Pie", baked at "Kutcharitaville Cafe" by "Kutchie Pelaez". That World Famous Key Lime Pie from Kutchie's Key West makes me get Soooo Wet Between My Legs and Oh Soooo Warm, so much so that I have to give my boyfriend the Best Deep Throat Blow Job that he ever gets. He Cums Huge Amounts Down My Throat, Every-time. I guess that's why he is always buying me those all some pies. I really love him so much and I really love those "KutchiePies". They bring-out the best in me and they also bring-out the best in my boyfriend, all 7 1/2-inches of him. I don't really need the whipped cream that comes on the pies, my boyfriend feels me full of his special whipped cream and I like his the best. So see what Kutchie's Special Key Lime Pies can do for you.

Happy New Year Y'all,.....Jennie

The MPAA is one of the most corrupt institutions in America. If anyone is interested in how I came to that conclusion please consult the documentary "This Film is Not Yet Rated"

why is a woman who is receiving something that is pleasurable offensive? why is se---x offensive? We have a cultural issue here, we're embarrassed to enjoy something that by nature is free and g-od-given. We've made something that's nice into something that should be shunned and detested, and that is where we've gone wrong. Thank goodness for people like Madonna who brought S--e--x into the vernacular of our country and broke a lot of taboo barriers that shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Receiving something this pleasurable is not offensive in a loving relationship, but why do people need to watch it for "entertainment"? I personally do not like sex scenes. I feel like a voyeur. To me, it's just too personal, and shouldn't be exploited.

its about the art and its about the scene itself, its not about the nudity or the sex.

Likely because it was a female receiving the pleasure. There's always been an undercurrent of misogynist agendas in our culture. There's been how many countless films with men getting a BJ..and easily gets an R rating. So, it's a female situation that caused the rating. I'd bet on it.

So, non cable television from Seinfeld to The Good Wife can have characters (George 'pleasures' a woman who complains it's like being invaded by alien bodies) and Chris Noth Florrik can pleasure his wife in the ten o'clock slot. I don't get it.

Porn has a totally different purpose than mainstream and indy movies. There is no comparison.

There should be a new movie rating. "Rx", meaning that the film has a lot of graphic violence but not X-rated scenes. The way it stands a movie can be rated X that has NO sex in it.

I heard it was all the “slurping sounds†that caused the NC-17 rating and not the images. Like a lot of Jello going down a garbage disposal is what I believe the comment was.

I've been saying the same thing for years. All people ever have to say in defense of it is, "I don't want my kids to see it!" There's all kinds of different responses to that, but I've taken to just saying "So what if they do?" Isn't exposing them to intense violence going to cause more anti-social behavior (if at all) than should they happen to see a sex scene? If they're young enough, why would they even care (beyond normal curiosity)?

GOOD ...people do not realize how the portrayal of "sex" to a young child or even a teenager can be abuse.
So Hollywood has been scarring kids for decades.
They should give the next vampire movie in the twilight series of X-17 rating because the marital bed scene between the too degenerates will scar impressionable girls ...and boys who see it with a pg_13 rating.
Hollywood THOUGH doesn't really care, and they will PAY someone off ... for that movie to get a pg-13 rating ...BUT it is supposed to be a VIOLENT sex scene between Edward the 100 year old pervert (yuck) and 18 year old Bella!

I don't know why we need porn in our movies to satiate the public, its disgusting. We all know what goes on in the bedroom, leave it to porn stars to get naked, movie stars to act. Also, this story is misleading because the scene mentioned is a bonus feature because of the explicit detail, it won't be in the released version.

Because porn is better than real life sex. Better looking people, conveniently available, no guilt, no compromises, no smells, and you get to keep most of your possessions and your money afterwards.

All men know this - only a few ever admit it.
