Marion Cotillard Quits Burlesque Show In Steamy, Nonsensical Dior Film (VIDEO)

First Posted: 12/08/10 04:39 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:15 PM ET

At HuffPost Style, we openly write about our crush on Marion Cotillard -- and today we're crushing a little harder after watching her latest short film for Christian Dior. Directed by John Cameron Mitchell, Marion plays a burlesque dancer who presents a wheelchair-bound Ian McKellan with a key to her dressing room. But then, wait! She quits the show! And madness ensues. Dior-clad madness, of course.

As a Huffpost fan I am disappointed and dumbfounded by your review. First off, the use of "wheelchair-bound" is journalistically incorrect and highly derogatory, please review the AP Stylebook and Libel Manual.

Per your review--how you missed the fact that the film is trite, sanctimonious, is amazing. It is nothing but a montage of cliche', incorrect stereotypes-- McKellan's character, plays the lonely and sad--he is in a wheelchair so he MUST be sad right?--wheelchair user. And the blanket covering his legs? Is Mitchell serious? That stereotype went out in the 1940's. The ending where Cotillard's tender sexuality "cured" poor "wheelchair-bound" McKellan, and he stood up, the sun hit him and he smiles for the first time in the film--plays into the stereotype that if you are a wheelchair user, only standing and walking will make you happy. If such incorrect and outdated stereotypes had been applied to other minorities there would be a massive outrage.

a beautiful video but i did not like the music at all, nor the unrealistically loud sound of the key.

Absolutely beautiful....how sad for those who find it boring, perhaps they don't know how to immerse themselves in it's fantasy and artistry.

What a flamming pile of dog doody. Should be filler commercial for 'Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.' And BTW: I somehow get the feeling that Ian isnt really 'excited' by the glamor girl. It's called 'Acting.'

I adore her. I'd pick Ian McKellan to.

I saw her in two different movies in the same weekend and had no idea it was the same actress playing both roles. Based on those two films I was impressed.
