Comedy Central's New Logo (POLL)

Comedy Central unveiled a new logo on Thursday as part of its first major rebranding effort in ten years.

Gone is the globe-and-skyscraper logo that has been around for a seeming eternity. In its place is a much sparer logo, featuring a "C" surrounded by an upside-down "C." The "Central" in "Comedy Central" is also upside down. Comedy Central senior vice president Bob Salazar told FishbowlNY that the logo represented the "irreverent wink" of the channel.

Its supposed to look like a copyright sign. Kinda like a copyright on comedy, their own unique take on something already recognizable. Your problem with it is exactly what Comedy Central is going for with the new look. They are saying they have the copyright on comedy. Its arrogant, funny and clever, it fits Comedy Central.

I like it. I'm a graphic designer who designs logos. My only change would be to use a heavier/thicker version of the typeface so as to add weight. I also would have not used that blue - typically reserved for back logos.
Close, but I still like it.
