Adorable: Keegan Roberts Dances During Somber 'Today Show' Interview (VIDEO)

First Posted: 12/09/10 03:20 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:20 PM ET

Those of you who watched "The Today Show" this morning might have caught this special treat. In a heartwarming segment, the Roberts family, who lost their father/husband in Afghanistan, are surprised with laptops, toys, decorations and everything they need for a proper Christmas by their friends and family.

But the most notable moment occurred at the top of the interview, when little Keegan Roberts suddenly realized he was on live TV and began dancing like crazy in front of the camera. While his mother and sister share a heartfelt moment before the big surprise, little Keegan starts gyrating in his seat, waving his arms and even gets up and starts jumping in front of the camera. We're thinking Keegan must have either been trying to break the tension or had inside info about the good things to come, because despite the sad subject of the interview, he turns into a dance machine on live TV without a second thought.

Little boys are a hoot. I look back on my childhood at that age and I think it was mostly flashing lights and sirens in my head! :)

that was a good laugh! Leave it up to children to be children no matter what's going on around them. Little Keegan is a very good dancer--he's a natural!

Loss happens to the very best of us, that's for sure. They seem very strong, compassionate and grateful. May God grant them strength to overcome their loss and courage to move forward gracefully.

Now THAT kid puts DWTS to shame! So much irrepressible joy in him. What a nice family. I love that the Mom wants to study speech pathology to help wounded veterans. Nothing will replace the Dad, buy wanting to give back like that is awesome.
Meredith, I know you had a job to do, but perhaps you could learn to go with flow, be more in the moment, and lighten up with the commercialism.

The happiness these folks are experiencing is wonderful and a testament to American kindness. Wouldn't it be great if it were socially acceptable for Wal*Mart to be able to give the gifts, support the troops and their families and have an anti-war message as well?

I mean, is there anyone that *doesn't* want the war to end?

I'm not a very emotional person, but I will admit that I began this video tearing, then laughing, then laughing and maybe tearing a little harder.

As a child, I lost my father at a young age and the boy's dancing reminded me of myself. Sometimes, even in the most somber moments, it's hard to forget that you are a kid.

The surprise at the end was amazing. I wish that family the best and I hope the gifts can serve as a distraction for the young ones heart ache, and in turn, warm the mother's grieving heart as well.
