Sketchy Santas: Even More Men Whose Laps We'd Avoid (PHOTOS)

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 12/10/10 01:17 PM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:15 PM ET

Santa Claus impersonators (sorry, kids) can go one of two ways: delightfully jolly or undeniably creepy. Unfortunately, the latter is typically what you find when you go to the mall or look at old photos from your childhood. Thus was the inspiration for the blog Sketchy Santas, which collects the creepiest Santas and the horrified children who sit atop their laps for our enjoyment.

We added to our slideshow from last year of our favorite Sketchy Santas and want you to participate by adding your own hilarious Santa photos! Simply upload them to the slideshow below and vote for your favorite ones. Don't forget to check out the rest of the great photos on Sketchy Santas, and if you're looking for a Christmas gift that's both festive and hilarious, their new book makes a great stocking stuffer!

Safer than sitting on a Catholic priests lap, and the Mall Santas are usually too drunk to do anything.

Gotta wonder how many people work as Santa Clauses at Christmas live under freeway overpasses the rest of the year.

The "I'm So Creepy I Have to Wear a Mask" Santa is obviously a woman (see wristwatch). That's why this Santa is wearing a mask and gloves.

Santa is just as sinister looking as the Clown. No wonder kids break out in tears.

Santa is a pretty overwhelming person for kids to meet. Its like an adult meeting their favorite rock star, no wonder some burst into tears or wet themselves (and the kids do as well).

The Santa labeled "Children Run From Me" looks perfect. Every Santa's going to get some crybabies every now and then.

I have a pic of my niece when she's about 5, sitting on Santa's lap a few days after getting the stranger danger lecture (again, she's a very gregarious kid and her mom wanted her to be more careful) So, she's sitting on his lap, leaning away from him with a funny look on her face and "secretly" pointing back at him and she's saying "momma, is this guy a stranger?" And Santa, who was a very jovial old guy is trying very hard not to laugh. It's adorable.

My in-laws thought it would be a good idea to surprise my son when he was five, and have Santa show up at the family Christmas gathering. Having a big bearded stranger show up at the door and then having everyone encourage him to grab my son and force him onto his lap (after much "stranger danger" training) absolutely freaked him out.

I was right after all. When I was a child, I was terrified of Santa impersonators. I couldn't even look at them!!

They should have had a picture of George H. W. Bush dressed as Santa at Boys Town.

I hate that as a culture we have decided it is okay to lie to kids about this magic dude who brings them stuff. Tell your kids the truth don't mess with their heads.

Yeah, religious indoctrination is a bad idea.

reminds me of the Calvin and Hobbes cartoon where they're talking about Santa and why "doesn't he just show himself" and then Calvin says he has the same question about God.

I put a comment up somewhere else on HP re Santa which was scrubbed. I totally agree with you. Santa is probably the first instance when children realize what liars their parents are.

My favorite degenerate Santas of all time?

Billy Bob Thornton's "Bad Santa", and Dan Akroyd's drunken Santa with a fish in his pocket from "Trading Places". EVERY TIME I watch that scene, I just howl with laughter.
