George Clooney sure is a class act: Following a romantic dinner with girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis Saturday night at an LA.-area Chinese restaurant, he tipped the wait staff $100!

A source tells TooFab that while dining at Studio City's Chi Dynasty restaurant, the couple "held hands, were laughing and were super cute with each other."

I lived and worked in L.A. as a struggling artist for 10 years. I delivered gift baskets for one company. I delivered food for another (30 restaurants participating).

Hollywood people were either amazing tippers or cheap as heck.

Clooney was always a great tipper. Hanks was generous. Others simply said thanks if I was lucky. It was like they never had to struggle to get where they were.

When I was 20 yrs old my mother told me the way a guy treats waitstaff and his mother is a good indication of how he'll treat you..Sounds silly, but so far it's been a pretty good and true observation. Same thing goes for women too.

This is news. Tiger Woods, Scottie Pippen, Barbara Streisan, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez and Warren Moon (to name a few) are multimillionaires who have a notorious reputation for being horrendous tippers.

Being in highest tax bracket doesn't mean you have class.

Random question: do people normally tip the attendant when they get full-service gas? I usually don't, but I always feel like I should. Gas is so expensive as it is and this particular gas station is convenient but only offers full service.

As a former server, I can attest that people in the service industry make $2.13/hour. While minimum wage has increased over the years, this wage for service professionals has not changed in over 30 years. It's a travesty. Thank god for classy people like Clooney who get it.

X 39 , Leto II...... Having been once married to a waitperson, I can attest that most of these good folks are struggling to put food on their own tables, and, so, tipping is vital to their incomes. By the way, IMHO, the best tippers are those who are warmhearted, caring people, especially those who have had to work low wage service jobs on their way up. Clooney appears to be one of these......

As most of us can attest, working in food service sucks. The pay is lousy and the hours can be grueling, and your best chance at making any decent amount of money is by putting your best foot forward at all times, no matter how many a**holes you've helped that day - so kudos to Clooney for keeping that in mind.
