Lauren Bush & David Lauren Engaged (PHOTOS)

One of fashion's most entertainingly named duos is about to make their union official. On Friday night Ralph Lauren's 39-year-old son David proposed to girlfriend Lauren Bush, the New York Post reports.

The question was popped at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. The two met at the same museum's annual Costume Institute Gala six years ago.

Bush is the niece of former President George W. (her father is his brother Neil). Last year she launched a clothing line under the name Lauren Pierce. Pierce is her grandmother's maiden name.

No word on whether, with the marriage, she will become Lauren Lauren.

Congrats to the happy couple.

I became friends with Lauren in college, but divergent paths post-Princeton reduced our relationship to electronic communications and the rare rendezvous. This is unfortunate because she is one of the most congenial, courteous, and caring individuals I've ever meet. True American royalty; and not just because of her baronial bloodline banded with beauty.

I will demand a wedding invite!

Gotta love that name. I thought Arthur MacArthur was bad enough. Or Thomas L. Thomas.Once we had neighbors, Chris and Gary, who had two sons, Chris and Gary. When we were introduced as newcomers to town, I though perhaps the town might have a name tax.

JOEL, oh I think there are plenty of people who cares. Why not just say you don't care. I think they are a lovely couple. His father is my favorite designer but now that his sons are more into the business the styles are obviously taking on another look which I'm a bit sad about however it will save me money.
