Prostitution Sting Hits Small Utah College

Deseret News:

A former president of a small unaccredited liberal arts college in southern Utah has been arrested for investigation of soliciting sex.

It's the second person with a tie to a Cedar City college or university arrested Friday for attempting to solicit sex.

Andrew Joshua Groft, 38, was arrested Friday afternoon and booked into jail. Groft is a former president of George Wythe University. He was appointed president in February of 2009.

Andrew Groft has not been associated with George Wythe University for several months. His employment terminated on June 15, 2010 and his association as a trustee ended on August 19, 2010 along with all related duties. As an institution, we do not oversee or monitor the behavior of former employees, trustees or other previous associates. We are shocked and saddened by the charges recently filed against Mr. Groft and we extend our deepest sympathy to his wife and children at this difficult time.

GWU is a goofy little college that mostly teaches a 'Great Books' curriculum, but they do a far worse job than St. Johns. Interesting how they were spun off of a conservative constitutional organization.
