11 Toys NOT To Get Your Kids This Christmas (PHOTOS)

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 12/13/10 08:19 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:20 PM ET

Most of us remember Christmases from our childhood as magical days of family, good cheer, and presents. But we take for granted that our parents could easily have destroyed this sentiment in one fell swoop of giving us a present so inappropriate, that "therapy" would occupy a spot on the wishlist the following year. Just like last year, we found even MORE real presents so offensive and/or inappropriate that we can't believe they're for sale. Vote for the worst!

Child-Size Vuvuzela

How can the vuvuzela be made even more annoying? Give it to a small child, of course.

Time for a an inpolitically correct comment. Cultural Update, News to HuffPosters: The Swastka was used for what, 10 years in Germany as a symbol of the Nazis? Prior to that it had been used for thousands of years by EVERY culture...as a symbol of great good luck. Especially in the Far East, where all of our plastic gew gaws and games are made. In Japan or China the Swastika is still revered as a Buddhist symbol of good fortune. Make a few trips out of the country, you'll also see them in American Native designs and art. As well as it being a good luck symbol worn by ALL the troops in Europe during World War I, including the Jewish ones...Hitler lifted it. Much like Glenn Beck has lifted Hitler, to make a point. The reason Hitler used the Swastika is because everyone knew it to be a symbol of hope and good luck. Time to take a chill pill. the more we work with "Global Economies" the more you will see the Swastika used in its former status. What Glenn Beck and others do not see is that coloring everyone as a Nazi who doesn't agree with you kind of MAKES you a Nazi. Sort of like how the Nazis colored everyone that didn't agree with them as a JEW.

There is one toy that didn't make this list, but should be at the top! The most dangerous one is the new "Hess Truck and Jet". It is the "jet" that has gone back to the "pointy" toys that can gouge ones eyes out. I count at seven extremely sharp edges on this one, here;

Don't buy it for your child. Buy it for yourself. My mother used my little sister's child-size broom and dustpan set for years to get into small spaces, and for "attic fly patrol." They are VERY useful!

I'm surprised you didn't include the Obama Chia Pet. I just bought one!

Hey, the chia is very nutritious, full of Omega 3s. It would be weird to pick out Obama's grown chia "hair" and snack on it!

Okay, I did laugh. But it's absurd to advocate not buying a product because of its name.

Have you looked back at some of the things we were given of a child? Do you have to go to therapy because your new board game consisted of pulling snot out of a large nose, or a bucket who has "balls" in his mouth? No. It was a toy. And it was fun. Because boogers were awesome. And so was Mr Bucket. End of story.

Sheltering parents are raising weak children. Weak children cannot handle the real world, which is a lot more difficult than the sheltered life under someone who's constantly worrying about their well being. That's why these teens are committing suicide over bullying. Bullying is no worse now than it was when we were kids... we just knew to find the bully's weakness and use it against him. And when someone punched you, you either hit them back... or figured out a way to get them in trouble. You didn't cower in a corner and weep.

The success of a parent is measured by the happiness and safety of their child. Not just the safety.
