We need to call the Tea Party by its proper name: THE KOCH BROTHERS TEA PARTY since they are the ones who started it with their own money and now finance it. Those Billionaire Brothers are forcing their evil will on American voters under disguise of the Tea Party.

I used to admire Snowe and Collins back when they were moderate rational Republicans.

No more. Their odious little partisan tactics, Snowe's on healthcare in particular, and Collins' on a number of issues, plus their voting in complete lock-step with the GOP at almost all times, indicate to me that there would be no difference if an extreme tea partier took their seats.

So she'll probably survive the challenge. It won't do the country a bit of good.

Maybe that is why she says that she is now supporting DADT. Maybe "H" has frozen over.
02:31 AM on 12/17/2010
She "supported" several things that she then voted against - a decent healthcare bill for one. And she's been part of almost every filibuster.
I no longer trust anything from her.

Maybe the change would be good. Those women Senators from MAine are goofy. Snow should go home and squeeze a few maples and stay there.

Oh sure, an eccentric would-be Goth with writing ambitions who has lived much of his recent life in London is going to sweep into Maine politics and dethrone one of the saner members of the US Senate. A plot worthy of a Stephen King novel?

All politics aside, I think Olympia Snowe looks like Jerri Blank.

I love all these experts on Maine politics that have absolutely no clue what they're talking about. Andrew Ian Dodge doesn't have a snowball's chance in he// at unseating Olympia. Neither does any Democrat, unfortunately. She'd have to be invovled in a major scandal to lose her seat at this point. TEA PARTY POLITICS DO NOT RUN MAINE. Gov. LePage is an unfortunate consequence of our winner-take-all system of statewide election. He's the best argument we have for ranked-choice voting.

Agreed. Sen Snowe isn't going anywhere. Ever.

I didn't think Feingold in Wisconsin could loose either.

She is definitely toast. Maine people are BATS_ITCRAZY!
01:13 PM on 12/15/2010
Hey now...there's only a small portion of our population that is guanocrazy. Believe me, everyday Mainers are horrified by what is happening to our state. We elected a Tea Party governor not because the people of the state wanted him, but because of a failing in our system of election (namely, not having ranked-choice voting). Over 60% of Mainers voted for the Democrat and "Independent" (really a Democrat) candidates.

Olympia is as safe as she can be.

Well, I personally would like to have Olympia Snowe as my Senator if I lived in Maine. Good luck to her.

I used to think the people of Maine were reasonable. But after the last election... Their racism drove them Tea Party mad.

Just like the rest of the country, ginned up by the Party of Fear who they love, who will take them down to poverty just the same as the rest of the nation.

Maine voters got caught in a pickle. Libby Mitchell and Cutler were about even, people wanted anyone but LePage. Unfortunately, that ended up splitting the vote enough that he actually won. Its good to have more than a 2 party system, but sometimes it means that the person no one really wants gets elected.

The people in Maine are conservative, not bizarre. The baggers want someone on the level of Jim Jones.
