The UK puts a lot of money on research about relationships. While it is appreciated most of the time. This one is obvious

Too many pop ups covering the linked article, so I didn't bother to read it. When they put those ads without any apparent way to close it, I just leave the site.

Anyway, DUH !!!!

"George Clooney Effect?" All else being equal, wouldn't anyone choose the most attractive package? How is this a surprise? With the attributes of wealth, power, influence, would anyone prefer the guy who looks like, say, Karl Rove over the guy who looks like George Clooney? Okay, maybe if you're blind....

Problem is, attractive older men want young hot women. When's the last time you saw George Clooney with an older, average looking woman, successful or not?

What about the effect of wealthy independent women, just staying single and dating whoever they want to date? Be it older or younger men???

My ex was 20 years older than me and my boyfriend is 14 years older. To me it's rather obvious. If you aren't looking for a "traditional" relationship, kids, white picket fence, etc . . . Older men are more attractive because they tend to be less threatened by a woman that doesn't fulfill the traditional female stereotype. And women often "grow up" faster so for an independent woman an older man is a good choice.

As older attractive and rich men like George Clooney prefer younger women, they will never get together.
