Kate Middleton's Wedding Dress Imagined By Lagerfeld, Vera Wang & More

First Posted: 12/15/10 08:29 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:20 PM ET

If you hadn't already heard, the fashion industry has a serious case of royal wedding fever! So WWD asked 29 different designers from Karl Lagerfeld to Tommy Hilfiger to imagine looks for Kate Middleton's wedding dress.

Although her dress will likely be made by a Brit (bookies say Bruce Oldfield), we say there's no harm in trying on a Valentino...or a Jason Wu.

Check out a dozen of the ensembles below and head over to WWD.com to view the rest.

Karl Lagerfeld suggests a Chanel take on “the Victorian wedding dress, with a twist --- high boots and open in the front.â€

All of these are wonderful. Personally I think Valentino and Jason Wu!

Tory Burch, definitely. Unfortunate first name though.

LaCroix is clearly having fun, I'm not sure Karl Lagerfeld is.

Attention top designers; if you’re NOT from the British isles FORGET IT!!!!

I think the only dress here that comes close to being suitable is the Tory Burch: slim, sleek, simple, and sophisticated, befitting Middleton's style, and with covered arms and shoulders. But she does have to buy British; an American or other non-Brit designer is out.

well lets hope she gets some say in her own gown. over the top with lots of gee-gaws would
just look stupid on this modern princess to be.

and a tip from me: don't use the same material that Diana picked. egad - she looked like
an unmade bed by the time she got to the church. i don't care if it WAS spun by imperial
royal ants..........

She needs to let Karl Lagerfeld handle this...its really going to be the dress of the century and who better than Karl to handle that sort of pressure....?

J. Mendel or Valentino

I think Catherine will pick a dress with sleeves.
