Today is National Cupcake Day, and Los Angeles has no shortage of places to celebrate. Since Yummy Cupcakes opened in 2004 and Sprinkles opened in 2005, more bakeries have jumped on the cupcake bandwagon to deliver sweet delights to patrons all over the city. For those east of LA- Inland Empire area I recommend MY DELIGHT CUPCAKERY! They are the BEST cupcake shop in the Inland empire! Many of the cupcake shops in the Inland Empire are trying to duplicate their flavors/style..."cough" Suite 106 Cupcakery "cough, but they just don't compare. Some Crust cupcakes are great if you like "cake mix cakes". See for yourself, Check them out on Yelp and FB.

For those much further east, may I recommend Some Crust Bakery in Claremont or Suite 106 Cupcakery at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga. The ladies who own Suite 106 won Food Networks "Cupcake Wars." I had the pleasure of meeting their father at their stand and it was wonderful to hear him gush about his daughters. Very nice family and awesome cupcakes!

Make your own. Then take one with you when you go to Sprinkles. Buy a comparable flavor. Then sit down and do a taste test.
Just a suggestion.

The food world is just like the fashion world; cupcakes are no longer sacred, marketing has done its number and there are Cupcakeries on every corner. I am not sure Cupcakes will stand the test of time.

I hope my Popsicles don't go like Cupcakes, but at least, I'm ahead of that game.

Things that once stood sacred:

-Fusion Food
-Foie Gras
-Tart Frozen Yogurt

P.S. My popsicles are in The Bay Area.

I guess the San Fernando Valley is not part of LA or only counts when there is an extension of a Westside business....yet, we pay most of the bills, get the least service, have the least adherence to zoning laws because the Council and developers know how to destroy an area that contains over 33% of the population...

I adore Crumbs here in Malibu. It's fun to get the mini-cupcakes. They allow me to have little bites of different flavors, without having to eat too much cake.

Really, Sprinkles cupcakes are good every once in a while, otherwise they are usually dry.
Auntie Em's cupcakes are really good.
All these HP lists are not really the best, they are whatever their staff can think up.
