It sucks the most when you split with a costar but your characters are in a relationship or supposed to have chemistry. This happened on The Big Bang Theory with the two leads that aren't Jim Parsons.

I believe that also happened with Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray (one of the choices above). I would imagine it's very difficult...especially when the split is not amicable

Then there is Jennifer Morrison who was engaged to "House" co-star Jesse Spencer.
On screen the couple married and later divorced
Off screen the engagement was called off.

Don't forget Meredith Baxter and David Birney, who starred in "Bridget Loves Bernie" and were married for a number of years before Baxter came out (some years and I believe a marriage later after their divorce)
Fun Fact: Baxter and TV hubby ("Family Ties") Michael Gross born on exact same day.

Um I'm sure they do better than us regular people. But they star on a show on Showtime that at it's best pulls in 3 million viewers, they're not as highly paid as someone like Charlie Sheen or the cast of Lost.

As for Dexter and sis...

Life changing events can sometimes do this. Sometimes they make relationships stronger, sometimes different, sometimes no change. But also sometimes end them. Blame it on self-reflection, fear, stress, realization that time is limited, who knows.
