Keith Olbermann Lifts Twitter Suspension After Three Days

Keith Olbermann announced the lifting of his self-imposed exile from Twitter on Sunday, after three days away from the site.

On Thursday, Olbermann said that he would suspend his use of the account after coming under heated criticism on the site for his handling of the rape allegations surrounding WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.He said he would wait until the "frenzy" of criticism had stopped to resume tweeting.

By Sunday, he apparently felt that the "frenzy had ended," and he announced his return from the Twitter hinterlands:

What happened to the story about KO and his 'joke' about Dan Abrams' hair?

The comments were running hugely against KO on that thread and then it disappears...

Hmmm...can't say I'm surprised. C'mon HP -- we're witnessing a colossal breakdown by a major media figure (in his mind anyway) where each day brings comments more add than the previous day...keep it open.

Olbermann's recent self-imposed breaks (suspending his "Worst Persons" segment, and his Twitter) sure haven't lasted long. I'm about as liberal as they come, but it's gotten to the point that the only MSNBC host I can watch and fully, unashamedly enjoy is Maddow. I can stomach Olbermann if he's on, but he's far too mercurial, overdramatic, and he does sometimes legitimately gloss over issues in ways I find hasty. Ed Schultz is unwatchable to me, as he represents a descent into the sort of commentary that I can't deny I'd find unproductive and horrible from a right-wing host. It strains my sense of independent thought to listen to him for too long.
