Cornell Student Keri Blakinger Arrested After Drug Bust Yields $150K In Heroin

A Cornell student has been arrested for possessing more than $150,000 worth of heroin, the Cornell Daily Sun reports.

Keri Blakinger, 26, was apprehended Sunday. According to her alleged Facebook profile, Blakinger is an English major at the school. She previously worked at the Cornell Daily Sun.

The Ithaca Journal reports that this is one of the largest drug busts in the area's history.

Not two weeks ago, Columbia was rocked by the revelation of a massive drug ring run by a group of the school's students.

According to court papers, Blakinger admitted that the heroin was hers. She remains incarcerated in the Tompkins County Jail.

It's actually cheaper and stronger then ever before, also more readily available since we still have pipelines from Afghanastan, the world's largest producer of Heroin. After all, the Herion industry has to compete with high grade Pharmacuticals.

Sure gives new meaning to the phrase "high above Cayuga's waters." Columbia, now Cornell . . . what can you say about the Ivies except maybe they'll try to smoke some of the ivy next? When I think of the Ivy League, I think of frat boys who major in keg parties and insider stock market trading, not drug dealing. But what do I know? Maybe we should blame the recession? Or the Admissions Department?
