Lipitor Recalled, Again, For 'Uncharacteristic' Odor

WHAT HAPPENED: Pfizer Inc. is recalling about 19,000 bottles of the blockbuster cholesterol drug Lipitor because of complaints about an "uncharacteristic" odor.

BACKGROUND: This marks the fourth such recall over the issue since August. The odor has been linked to a chemical commonly used in wood pallets used by an outside manufacturer. More than 360,000 bottles have been recalled overall.

HEALTH IMPACT: Pfizer said health consequences appear to be minimal.
