Doesn't matter. They're "global companies" and buy US lawmakers. They're private entities. They don't see the need to follow US laws and customs and even the Constitution if it costs them potential profit. Maybe people who say "companies can do what they want" should remember the country they live in. Especially when they say "free speech!" but then whine when their forum posts magically disappear...

Nobody, probably. Even those who say "Do no wrong and you'll be okay" will one day find a reason to change their minds, I suspect...

Blogging involves social and political tracking... so goes facebook. That's tracking. But general web surfing should be treated like a person reading a morning newspaper (without a subscription, oh darn)

We're being tracked. European privacy standards seem a wee bit better, methinks.

Americans are about to say NO to more than that. This country has been handed over to the fascists and people are furious...I hear it constantly this Christmas holiday.

There was a survey needed to arrive at this conclusion? Is a survey needed to see if we all want our own personal mob of stalkers?

Track me all you want. You'll go broke!

The shows I like get cancelled.

The food I like gets discontinued.

The bands I like don't make it.

The makeup I like gets reformulated or replaced with an "improvement". I complain and they couldn't care less. So why bother tracking me?

Very interesting article. I've observed on more than one occasion that advertisements for companies whose websites I've visited miraculously show up when I log onto the Huffington Post. Not just that what the ad will show the actual item of clothing or shoes that I looked at. IF THAT'S NOT TRACKING I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS !!!!!!!!

It won't be long before things that used to be paid for by our tax dollars and government, will instead, be paid for by giant corporations.

If things continue the way they seem to be, with huge government funding shortfalls and resistance to higher tax levels, it will only be a matter of time before the corporate giants step in to "help out." Perhaps street maintenance, public transportation, sewer systems, even police and fire departments, will all one day be paid for by corporations.

I can imagine a day when you will be forced to watch a commercial in a theater, on television, on your cell phone or computer because you drove on a corporate sponsored street or rode on a corporate sponsored subway train. Yes, you will either watch the corporate commercial or pay a fine.

This online tracking seems like a step toward this direction.

Too bad American people. Of course no one wants this tracking or any tracking but, the Banker Daddies want it and we will have it. How can they maximize profits for their CEO stock holders without it...and how can the DHS monitor your activities properly under the rules or the Patriot Act with out it! Give it up Americans! The Bankers scared you into submission when they goaded those terrorists into flying into their biggest bank building so they could get their big army out of the garage and take it for a spin over to where there are three trillion dollars of mineral resources waiting to be exploited!
Freedom is quite dead in America and only finishing the redistribution of our belongings amongst the rich is all that is left after all these years!

The fact they felt the need to ask bothers me.

Does it hurt when I step on your brain...like this? How about...like...THIS?

Ugh.
