Looks like the Mentalist's powers extend to negotiation, too.
Deadline reports that Simon Baker, star of the hit CBS crime drama 'The Mentalist,' has reached agreement with Warner Brothers television on a contract extension that will pay him $30 million, including money his contract already called for. The deal calls for Baker to get more of the show's backend profits, and receive a producing credit starting in season five.
Warner Brothers can afford it, it seems; in 2009, it sold the show's syndication rights for $2.2-2.3 million per episode. The show, which airs at 10 PM on Thursdays, averages 16 million viewers per show.
Baker stars as Patrick Jane, a paid consultant to the California Bureau of Investigations, who uses unusual methods and brash confidence to solve homicide cases.
