The Funniest Late Night Sketches Of 2010 (VIDEO)

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 12/29/10 09:02 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:20 PM ET

Not many years have been quite as tumultuous as 2010 for late night comedy. Between the Conan/Leno debacle and Jon Stewart taking his seat at the right hand of Edward R. Murrow, late night talk shows have never been quite such serious business. But while they were making headlines, late night shows were more importantly making us laugh night after night. We know what to expect in a talk show's opening monologue and celebrity interview, but it's the written sketches and comedy bits that really show a program's unique flavor. From Stewart's Glenn Beck impression to Jimmy Fallon's "Pants on the Ground" as recited by Neil Young, here are some of our favorite such segments from this year. Vote for the funniest, and if you think we forgot something, let us know!

I think Will Ferrell playing an (sincerely) zealous man cheerleader and an addled President George W Bush on NBC's 'Saturday Night Live" show was quite hilarious:) At least entertaining for me...check out our latest post as today Will Ferrell and his family are celebrating his son's 4th birthday:http://babycelebs411.com/2010/12/30/will-ferrell-is-celebrating-his-sons-mattias-4th-birthday/. xoxo

The show Ferrell did all on Bush should be required viewing for all high school students. Someone should next do Reagan, so instead of the myth- we get the reality of what an absolutely poor president that man was.

Jon Stewart is the master of Glenn Beck impersonation. It's perfect.

It would appear that Fallon has more highlight moments, but personally, overall, I think Ferguson has a funnier show.

This list once again proves that Jay Leno is America's Late Night Host...for mentally disabled octogenarians who've never left rural Nebraska.

The funniest thing of the year wasn't a sketch but it was sketch-like: Scenes from "Bitchhunter" on 30 Rock. Freaking hilarious.

The Dr. Strangelove impression deserves an Emmy of its own. It was simply brilliant!

SNL has never been better or more clever IMO.  Don't know what you're watching.

SNL has always appealed to younger folks and their hipper comic sensibility. Don't blame SNL because you got old.
