Laura Govan, Gilbert Arenas' 9-Year Relationship Ends: Report

Orlando Magic guard Gilbert Arenas and fiancée Laura Govan's nine-year relationship has ended, according to Amy Argetsinger of the Washington Post.

A representative of Govan told the Washington Post that Arenas "has cut off communication and funds from her and their three children."

Govan, who is four months pregnant, said she hasn't heard from the former Washington Wizard during the whole month of December.

Publicist Laura Wright, who worked for Govan's sister, said in an e-mailed statement that "Govan and the children feel like they have been abandoned."

Arenas was recently traded from the Wizards to the Magic in a blockbuster deal that sent Rashard Lewis to Washington.

After the trade, Arenas reportedly left Govan with no money to buy Christmas gifts.

I don't understand why these stud athletes go on having multiple babies by these women. I guess it's a symbiotic relationship. These men get beautiful playthings and these women get 18 year recurring annuities (in the form of child support). Gilbert is a dope. If he is smart he should get DNA tests on all "his" children. Those that are his, he should pay child support and get on with his life.

Having childen takes a toll on the body, along with time. Time is not always your friend and youth is fleeting. You have got to love somebody knowing that they will get older and the looks WILL change. Unless you are Hugh Hefner and then you just trade up until you die.

She is full of it. "Never wanted to be in the public eye" are you kidding me? Why did she do an interview with a magazine where I found the quote? Why is this break up being played out in the Washington Post? I haven't heard anything from Arenas on the subject. Strange behavior coming from a woman who describes herself as someone who, "never asked to be in the public eye."

Most times..... it really is better to have the wedding..... before one has the children.

Unless she is married to the guy..... or the court orders it.... he has no obligation to give her money for anything.

You're right, he doesn't owe her anything BUT he DOES owe his 4 children the decency to have the financial support they need to have shelter, food, education etc.

He is just as responsible for them being born outside of them being married.....pretty sure she didn't have 4 immaculate conceptions.
