Be careful on these handouts. The Tea-Party might show up with signs: "KEEP 'EM IN THE STREET!"

Billions of dollars for tax cuts. Not a dime for shelters for the homeless or abused women and children. Good on the vets for helping out where they saw a way to help. Scr*ew the House and the Senate for not helping out where they clearly have the ability.

What to do with the homeless? I think the homeless should be the church's burden - all of them, of all faiths, temples and synagogues too. Why? Because they are all tax exempt!! So, they do not pay their fair share, and the reason they don't have to is because SUPPOSEDLY they do things that the fov't could do but don't need to because these religions are doing it.

I like the sleeping bag idea. I would like to buy a few. There are some eldery men who are homeless living in the park nearby my house. I do not have much money, can somebody recommend me a sleeping bag, which makes sense. I live in the Mojave desert, it gets cold in winter, but very seldom freezing temperatures.

I supose it should not be too bulky because they have to carry it all day.

Genius. A poncho helps retain heat and blocks wind and rain. What a simple thing to give such great comfort.

I would think that people who go camping would have some useful ideas. I'm thinking a blue tarp would be light, dry and practical.

These acts should be front page news every day of the year.

If it weren't for bad news, there would be no news as some cynic said. Diane Sawyer has her person of the week. This thread on HP seems to be little deeds that make a big difference to somebody.
