Zsa Zsa Gabor To Have Half Her Leg Amputated

UPDATE II: GossipCop.com is reporting that a Gabor rep told them that doctors are not yet amputating the leg, but are "trying two days' worth of heavy antibiotics," to try to save it.

UPDATE: TMZ spoke with Gabor's husband, Prince von Anhelt, who said doctors recommended that Gabor have the surgery done before the holidays. Gabor declined, wishing to spend perhaps her last holiday with her family, but doctors insisted today that ignoring the problem further would cost the actress her life.

Gabor was diagnosed with blood clots in her leg in November.

LOS ANGELES -- A representative for Zsa Zsa Gabor says she is back in a Los Angeles hospital to have part of her leg amputated.

Publicist John Blanchette says doctors examined a growing lesion on Gabor's leg Sunday and decided she needed to return to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for surgery.

The 93-year-old Hungarian-born actress broke her hip in July and has been hospitalized several times since. She asked for a priest to read her last rites in August.

Sad situation for Ms. Gabor, or anyone to find themselves. Wish her only the best outcome and the people close to her to take good care of her. Getting old is just hard in so many ways. Don't mean to be insensitive, but sometimes when we are so sick the cure is often worse than the illness. The one sure thing is, is that at this moment, we all are going to have to go through it in some way or another. Bing Crosby on the golf course all those years ago was the way to go!

Wow, I hope they let her die without hooking her up to every machine they seemingly have in the hospital, unfortunately I've seen it done more than once and its heartbreaking especially when they are elderly because they are going through so much pain and for what?

It's not the dying that seems so terrible but how one dies particularly in a hospital where you think they would stop the suffering but in some of the cases I've seen, in my own family, the Doctors were the cause of the suffering. The doctors do so many useless and painful procedures that the family is praying that their loved ones let go, and not because we want to them to die, but we just want their torture to end.

I hope Zsa Zsa doesn't have to suffer that way, God be with her.

Zsa Zsa reminds me of my mother-in-law who is four years younger. We never really knew how tough she was until she became older and the health problems hit (one after another).

I hope Zsa Zsa is as mentally fit as my m-i-l and can make the right decisions for herself and that those decisions will be respected.

Spirited and funny lady, remember her appearances on The Muppet Show with her muppet alter ego, Miss Piggy. She's had a wonderful life and I hope she is as pain free as possible now. It might not get better but I hope it does. Love you Zsa Zsa :)
