Hundreds of people in Southern California have lined up since early Tuesday morning to buy Mega Millions tickets before tonight's $355 Million drawing. At Bluebird Liquor in Hawthorne, throngs of hopeful lottery players were willing to spend about an hour in line for a chance to buy a ticket at this historically lucky retailer. According to the Los Angeles Times, the liquor store has "produced three state lottery jackpot winners of more than a million dollars" with their combined total adding up to more than $16 million, as well as numerous winners who have taken home smaller amounts since opening for business in 1985.
KTLA reports that Tuesday night's jackpot is the nation's seventh largest in history, and lottery ticket holders have a 1 in 176 million chance to win, though many believe a trip to Bluebird Liquor just might increase their odds of getting a winning ticket.
