StyleList.com:

Nicole Kidman has fresh company in the celebrity makeup disaster club.

The usually flawless Eva Longoria stepped out for dinner last night with longtime friend and "Entourage" star Kevin Connolly -- though the chalky stripe of white concealer under her eyes made it look like the "Desperate Housewives" actress had dunked her face in powdered sugar from the dessert tray.

Um, don't use it as a concealer! You use it as a finishing powder, to set makeup. A large buffing brush or the kabuki brush they sell works great, and tap off the excess. There is no reason to apply it so heavily under the eyes.

THE PEOPLE HERE AND THEIR COMMNTS ARE TACKY AND DISRESPECTFUL!! NONE OF YOU ARE MAKEUP ARTISTS! ANYONE WHO HAS LIGHT SKIN WILL SHOW UP LIGHT IN FLASH OR ANY CAMERA! BIG DEAL!!! AL EVA NEEDS TO DO IS JUST BLEND SO THERE ISNT A HARSH LINE,THATS ALL! STOP ANALYZING PEOPLE'S EVERY PORE. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT MANY OF U LOOK LIKE, U HAVE FAKE PHOTOS BUT U TALK ALOT OF FALSE TRASH

i guess she needs to start buying makeup in the right shade, then learning how to apply it correctly,

Wearing kabuki make up to a Japenese restaurant is ALWAYS appropriate. Seriously, the flash may have made it look worse. This is strange because she always looks perfect. I wish this were my biggest problem................................

Disaster?!?

A family dying in a house fire is a disaster! A village getting wiped out in a tsunami is a disaster! A plane crash where everyone dies is a disaster!

Someone's unflattering make-up issues is NEVER a disaster, or even close to such a thing. No wonder our society is in such sad shape with people thinking that THIS is what makes up (pun intended) a disaster to our civilization!

William I agree, but this is the entertainment and style section!

Yes, the article is. But, the headline was blasted on the 'front'/main page, as well.

HP spends a lot of time scrutinizing the looks of famous female celebrities and little to no scrutiny to the looks of male celebrities.

But seriously? How many guys do you hear discussing fashion. How many males do you know that purchase fashion magazines. It's catered to who cares & men usually don't.

It has little to do with fashion and everything to do with women's looks being a commodity. Men aren't as scrutinized about the way they look as much as women are.

Makeup is trickier to apply than you would think. You think you look fine, take a picture w/ a flash and you have streaks all over your face! Ugh.

If Connelly had only looked up from gazing at her breasts all night, he could have warned her. Some friend.

More than likely it looked fine in person. Camera flashes cause this problem if the contouring isn't done correctly.

She's probably not used to applying her own make-up and doesn't realize you need to blend.

We would only have to start worrying if the white, powdery areas would be under her nose, rather than under her eyes.

What a phenomenal substitute for entertainment "news"...I can't believe someone went to journalism school to report these types of "news" stories.
