O.J. Mayo, Tony Allen Fight: Grizzlies Reportedly Separated On Charter Flight

Memphis' O.J. Mayo and Tony Allen needed to be separated on Monday's charter flight after they started to fight over a card game, according to Yahoo Sports.

Mayo reportedly owed Allen money from the game and "became increasingly belligerent and antagonistic toward Allen" when asked to pay up.

After Allen went to the bathroom, Mayo continued to "berate" his teammate and Allen eventually hit the Grizzlies star.

A source told Adrian Wojnarowski that Allen warned Mayo to "watch his mouth," but Mayo "just kept going off on him."

Several players separated the two and general manager Chris Wallace confirmed the altercation in an e-mail sent to the media.

"The club considers the matter closed and will not comment further," Wallace said.

To those who say that those who condemn the reprehensible behaviours such as the scores of reported murders, rapes, assault & battery, drink driving, domestic violence, public brawling of these multi-million dollar athletes are increasingly displaying is racist I say this:

You essentially saying that certain groups cannot control themselves because of what others may think of their skin colour. So, by your logic gangs of Transexuals, Lesbians, and Gay Men would be running riot through the cities of America raping and pillaging based upon the hatred and discrimination that exists against the LGBT community. Why aren't we? Ditto with women who are now openly referred to as bitches & ho's in mainstream culture.
Good tries at defending the indefensible, but once you become an adult, your actions are down to no one but you. Any other viewpoint implies that unless you are white and male you are too hobbled by outside forces thus too weak-willed to be held accountable for your actions.
This sort of apologist rhetoric is the only racist view I've seen on this thread thus far.

Mayo might be going through some travails. His father was arrested last week on a murder charge and he is now coming off the bench. Hope he gets traded to the Lakers.
