Rex Ryan Jabs Tom Brady, Praises Peyton Manning

Rex Ryan Tom Brady

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan took a shot at Patriots quarterback Tom Brady while praising his first-round playoff opponent Peyton Manning, according to Jenny Vrentas of the The Star-Ledger.

"There's nobody like this guy in the league. Nobody studies like him," Ryan said. "I know Brady thinks he does. I think there's probably a little more help with (New England coach Bill) Belichick with Brady than there is with Peyton Manning."

Ryan also praised the Colts coaching staff, saying that Colts assistant coach Tom Moore "has done a great job with [Manning] forever, Caldwell and Tony Dungy and things like that. But it's Peyton Manning, that's who it is."

If the Jets beat the Colts this weekend in the Wild Card game, they will play the Patriots in the Divisional round.

Before the season started, Brady said that he hates the Jets when asked about the HBO series "Hard Knocks."

Limiting the score to only 45-3 last time was only because the Patriots were being kind. I say, "RELEASE THE KRAGEN" this weekend.

How does an article about the loudmouth jets coach turn into a "hey, lets bash peyton manning" thread.

Brady is a team player; Peyton Manning is such a control freak, he's out there coaching, running the show on his own, obviously, with no respect for the Colt's coach or the other players. It's all about him -- that's why they lost and had such a crummy season. Manning is on a HUGE ego trip; he's a dour presence, acts like he's got the proverbial corn cob up his u know what. Sorry! Yes, he's a talented player but he's hit a rough spot and it's all about him, not the coach or anyone else. He needs some humility. And Ryan is blowing smoke. I'm glad the Jets won but I'm not buying Ryan's bs opinion. He made some weird, terrible calls in that game and he's not even a quarter as good a coach as Belichek. My two cents!

This is why Rex will never win a super bowl. He knows nothing about football talent. Brady has won 3 super bowls Manning has won 1. Manning has been in the league longer than Brady and has zero chance of catching him.

Everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax. It is obvious that Rex is continuing to do what he has been doing all season. He is shielding his young, inexpereinced quarterback from the NY media circus. Every time Rex says something silly, the media frenzy focuses on Rex rather than Sanchez. It is actually a very old, very effective coaching technique.
So chill out.

it's exactly what he is doing and he has been doing it all year

Ever heard from a coach that says so much and has accomplished nothing! Rex you and the Jests will be "one and done" for the second year.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend....so I hope the Pats do play the Jets and crushes them into the ground.

45-3....... I guess Tom did enough studying. Maybe you should help your quarterback read defenses better, because both he and "THE TOESUCKER" were completly inept the last time you played. Peyton won't beat you ths week, you guys will beat yourselves

Does anyone remember - wasn't it Ryan that called the time-out on a Pats fourth down against the Raven in their 16-0 season? The play continued and Pats were stopped. After it was revealed a time-out was called they replayed fourth down the Pats made it and won the game. Thanks Rexie.

Thanks, I thought so. I went to that game and was in second row end zone right in front of where Gaffney caught the winning touchdown. It was amazing. My daughter got hit with the penalty flag when Bart Scott picked it up and threw it into the stands. What a fun night.
