Rielle Hunter, John Edwards Wedding Reportedly Planned -- Edwards Denies

John Edwards has reportedly asked mistress Rielle Hunter to marry him, according to tabloid magazine The National Enquirer.

The Hollywood Gossip has a screenshot of the latest issue of the Enquirer, the publication that broke the original story about Edwards's liaison with Hunter, his campaign videographer, and predicts that the two might tie the knot this summer, if at all.

While the Enquirer gained some credibility for its coverage of the Edwards affair, it is worth noting that they posted nearly the exact same story regarding an Edwards-Hunter nuptial and a "luxury $3.5 million beachfront home" last year, a report that was later denied.

John Edwards's wife, Elizabeth Edwards, passed away last month after a battle with cancer. In her will, she left her possessions to her three children, while leaving out her estranged husband entirely.

I call this rubbish. The NE may have had a source, but JE was cheating and got caught. Charles did not have Camilla raise small children. I have no expectations of decent behavior from JE so this story could well be true. I hope he goes to jail and Cate gets to raise EE's two younger kids rather than have to deal with this stepmonster.

I agree with you. people fall out of love all the time. So he had an affair. how many people here that are flipping out are a monument to justice? I doubt very many... It's sad his wife pasted on, but he has a child that is alive. If his plan is to be involved, then what is he doing wrong.

I could carry your own argument further and say that it's more likely that John wasn't in love with RH at all.  He had an affair.  That does NOT equate to love.  And he "should" marry her?  What a ludicrous thing to say.  The "right" thing would have not to have cheated to begin with.  Why should he marry this woman?  Because he had a child with her?  What in the world.

Agreed. This situation hugely disappointed me in John Edwards. Otherwise I had admired him, and the disappointment was in him as "just another foolish man , screwing up his career over an affair." I mourn his loss as an exceptional liberal leader. Clinton weathered similar foolishness and still has overall admiration in the world beyond our country's morality. JFK was incredibly, multiply foolish in this respect. He would have never had a chance today. This nation has never been able to distinguish human sexuality (often foolish) with leadership abilities.

Man, I get so tired of always hearing "puritanical!!!" whenever anyone has the slightest morals. I am really not a religious person, definitely agnostic and I consider myself a secular humanist as someone with a strong scientific background. But good grief, should anyone try to have morals and they're automatically persecuted. I'm sorry that people like you want to live in a world with no law and no faith in other people to be able to uphold their promises. It's not even about puritans or religion, for me it's just about being respectful to other human beings so we can all have a better life. If someone can't uphold their responsibilities and deals in their personal life, it's a strong reflection on how they will treat other humans. I'm sorry, but I personally am not a puritan and am not Christian, but I do have values that I think help make the world better for humans to get along in and betrayal is not one of them.

You kidding! There is no love in this relationship. He wanted sex. She wanted fame and his money. He was so enraged when he found out she was pregnant, wanted her to get an abortion, didn't answer her phone until she threatened to go public, didn't pay for child support until she sued him. Does it sound like "love" to you? She on the other hand lied to him she couldn't get pregnant. Now she got paid almost $20,000 a month plus etc. She got her fame she deperatelywanted. Her sister even said she always wanted to be famous, now she got it, unfortunately. John need to rebuild his relation with his children. That's only one thing he has left in life. And, he has to do it away from Hunter.
